- Biology (particularly molecular & cellular biology, computational biology, and endocrinology)
- Computers/technology, & making them do my bidding
- Taking long walks in low-visibility conditions
- Open knowledge & open source
- Infrastructure (especially public transit, and very especially trains)
- Talking about things I'm really interested in, and listening to others do the same
- Systems — figuring them out, and making good ones
I don't like
- Modern technology, Web2.5 (or whatever the modern internet is), bloat, overuse of JavaScript, &c.
- Sunlight
- The universalisation of surveillance and erosion of privacy
- Car-dependency
- Coercive power structures
- The United States of America
- Poorly designed systems (with bad emergent characteristics, &c.)
